From 14 p.m. to 19 p.m. there was another »crash course« under the auspices of the Frankfurt SCD teacher programme in the Großer Saal, Haus der Jugend, Frankfurt. Four dancers of the Frankfurt group who have been with the programme for a while, one newcomer and one from the Darmstadt group worked on new things. The focus was on warm-up, on step practice and teaching formations since the six know already pretty well how to teach dances.
This event was not only aimed at programme members — other dancers were welcomed as »stooges«. All in all there were 14 stooges who joined the day - a good number of which 10 were of the Frankfurt group and the other four members of the surrounding groups. Thank you from us to everybody who made this afternoon possible (including those who offered cake and savoury things for everybody during the brakes!)As it is a new kind of workshop for Anselm to teach he took the challenge and prepared for instance, an interesting concept for step-practice in small groups of stooges on the basis of speed-dating. Only the bell of the self-written PC-programme for the music (and the pauses leaving room for 15 seconds of commenting on the respective little group of dancers' skills) needs to be improved somewhat: The bell marking the end of the commentary-phase was a bit too harsh and loud (and thus raised the adrenalin in everybody every time ...)!
At the end of a long day, we had the impression that everybody — both the stooges from the Frankfurt group and the teachers — profited from this free event. There will be more! And after this afternoon we can confidently say to the three teachers having started in the certificates of the RSCDS: Stay with it, practice - and we are sure you will make it!
