On 10 November, we again offered an »open dance evening« under the auspices of the Frankfurt Intercultural Weeks. The motto was Scottish Dancing for Everyone — Lots of Fun with Jigs and Reels since ...
... Scotland is not just whisky, kilts, and sheep in the rain, but also music that goes to your legs.
With or without a partner, this was an opportunity to get to know simple Scottish couple and group dances under expert instruction. The event took place as part of our usual Tuesday dance nights, i.e., from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the gymnasium of the IGS Herder and was free.
We were delighted that many interested dancers turned up and were so talented and motivated, that we even managed to dance »Shiftin' Bobbins« and »The Piper and the Penguin« at the end of the evening. Before that Anselm taught easy and traditional Ceilidh-dances with a partner or in a set. How much fun the evening was we saw in the faces of everybody - be it guest or regular dancer!
