Fugues etc. Workshop for Advanced Dancers 2012
After the success of the Fugues & Celtic Brooch workshop of November, 2009, a repetition is long overdue!
On 5 May 2012 at the Haus der Jugend in Frankfurt (see here for details) we will once more have fun with fugues and other intricate dances. From 2pm to 6pm, Anselm Lingnau will be teaching well-known and lesser-known dances by Hugh Foss, Barry Priddey and other giants of the genre.
We'd like to invite all advanced dancers from near or far. »Advanced« means: You should have some experience with Scottish country dancing, be able to execute the five basic steps and all important figures (including reels of three and four, poussette – quick-time and strathspey –, rondel etc.) when prompted, not be confused by »meanwhile« figures and be able to dance dances even if you have not walked them from all positions before. At the workshop we will of course spend appropriate time especially on the complicated dances!
Afterwards we (or those interested) shall once more adjourn to the traditional Sachsenhausen apple-cider pub, Zum Eichkatzerl, to recuperate from the exertions of the afternoon by partaking in the »Stöffsche« and other Frankfurt delicacies.
Please register by 27 April 2012 via the online form (instructions provided there) or else by contacting Marie Schwarz or Anselm Lingnau at +49(0)6131-8807925 or secretary@frankfurt-scd-club.org. Admission is €5 (payable at the door) and includes tea/coffee and cake.
