Where to find us

We meet weekly (except during the Hessian school holidays - please check our list of dates to make sure that we will be dancing) on Tuesday evenings from 7pm to 10pm in the gymnasium of the IGS Herder (Wittelsbacherallee 6-12) in Frankfurt. This is near the Zoo and conveniently reached by public transport:

By tramway

Line 14 to »Waldschmidtstrasse« (the stop is right in front of the school)

By subway

Lines U6 or U7 to »Zoo« station. Follow the »paw prints« embedded in the pavement and ascend the stairs (or escalator) to the »Zoo-Gesellschaftshaus«. Pass the zoo entrance and follow »Thüringer Strasse« - keeping the zoo always on your right - around a bend to the right and then veer left into »Wittelsbacherallee«. The school is visible from there already.

By suburban rail (»S-Bahn«)

Any line to station »Ostendstrasse«, or - more conveniently - to station »Konstablerwache«, change to subway line U6 or U7 and continue as above.

You can of course come by car, but parking spaces may be scarce due to events at the »Zoo-Gesellschaftshaus« or the school. Residential parking rules are in force until 7pm, and this is being checked on. Usually there are spaces available in »Waldschmidtstrasse« or the far end of »Thüringer Strasse« (near the zoo wall). If all else fails, there are multi-storey car parks near the Mousonturm (in »Waldschmidtstrasse«) or right at the intersection of »Waldschmidtstrasse« and »Wittelsbacherallee«.

Having reached the school you enter the schoolyard through the gate to the right of the building and keep to the left. The gymnasium entrance is a glass door under a projecting roof between the main building and the refectory; we usually put a sign on the glass door so you can find us more easily.

Guests and beginners are always welcome but we would appreciate a short note to teacher@frankfurt-scd-club.org in order to prepare the evening's programme accordingly. Ideal times to start are after our annual ball in early May and after the Hessian summer holidays. Of course it is always possible to check us out!
